WHO WE ARE!
It was the 80s when the subcultural movement of Casual was born in the United Kingdom.
The Casual subcultural movement was born in the early 1980s in England - between Aberdeen, Manchester and Liverpool.
It is among the terraces of English stadiums that this phenomenon germinates and amplifies, captivating trends and influencing cultures, right up to the present day.
The stage for this massive movement was set by hooligans, skinheads and hear mods - groups of fans - and others - in constant and infamous guerrilla warfare.
During the bloody clashes with police and opposing fans, still cited and remembered in the news today, they usually did not make themselves easily identifiable; a continuous shuffle, between frenetic movements and jolts, hid faces and signs of recognition.
In particular, hooligans, skinheads and hear mods were characterized by their own specific clothing. This distinguished them, in the fray, but not from each other.
This army, therefore, is well remembered for the famous “Fred Perry” polo shirts, the “Stone Island” cardigans and the “Lyle & Scott” checked shirts.
This way of dressing soon became influential, to the point of denoting the birth of a real subculture; the dichotomy between wardrobe and stadium arrived on the catwalks, in no time at all.
In the years that followed, brands and labels around the world - including Adidas, Diadora, New Balance, Ralph Lauren, CP Company and many others - have leaned out from the English stands, placing a magnifying glass on a phenomenon that has nourished the masses - telling a story that has shaped and outlined a fashion that seems to have all the connotations of immortality.
Since the 80s, Casual Culture has spanned the decades, enriching itself and never exhausting itself, celebrating and dressing all generations; the widening of this range of inspiration has also allowed new brands to present themselves and prevail - among these stand out those dedicated to outdoor clothing, such as Patagonia, Mountain Equipment and The North Face.
From this rich history comes the passion for the Casual movement that has always embraced and stimulated the Raiola brothers.
In 2013 they decided to inaugurate their shop, which is a manifestation of this subculture: “Offside Casual Boutique” opens its doors to Casual culture in Torre del Greco, the hometown of the two brothers.
It was in 2018, then, that the two young people gave life to a new sales point, located in the Neapolitan capital, in Corso Umberto I - one of the nerve centres of Naples.
The selection of garments and brands offered in their boutiques, not only aims to tighten those who have made this fashion a real religion; these temples of Casual culture, in fact, look to a wider audience, capable of understanding the quality of the products presented, in addition to the brands and the historical cultural connotations of a fashion phenomenon.
